Our Activities
How we serve orphans, the aged, the physically challenged, and the abused across Ghana.
Orphans
The Gladys Asare Foundation supports orphans and vulnerable children through mentorship programs and by catering for their education. We put more focus on kids to make them feel loved and not have the feeling of being exempted or ignored by the society. Our main aim is to raise them with good values and morals to help them become responsible people in the society.
The Foundation caters for orphans from the ages of 0-18 years (sometimes we go beyond this to take care of some critical situations we encounter).
We also aim at improving the well being of the kids we cater for, that they may be able to achieve their dreams and future aspirations. One of our major plans is to build infrastructures for educational and shelter purposes for orphans/the less privileged. This has also been our challenge due to inadequate funds to support the project.
The Foundation has relied on funds from the executive director herself and philanthropists, which the foundation appreciates greatly. As at now, we are still seeking for funds to make this proposed project a reality in pursuance of the happiness and safety of our orphans/less privileged.
The Aged
The Gladys Asare Foundation also supports the aged. We therefore educate families who neglect the aged. To fight against actions such as abuse and neglect, we support exercises such as education of the society on aged care and fighting the stigma associated with aging.
We also undertake visitations to the aged, donations and encouraging them through the word of God. These steps help us leave an exemplary mark for families/society/people and help families who cannot or do not have any motivation for supporting the aged.
The essence of the program we embark on is to encourage them, with love, care and the support we get from philanthropists. The foundation is based on sharing love for all, that is why we let our actions speak best for us.
The Physically Challenged
The Gladys Asare Foundation supports the physically challenged and makes efforts to make their well being and education a priority. We believe in equality so therefore, our goal is to build a centre for the physically challenged to have educational programs.
The Foundation has some challenges such as learning materials and assistive materials to make movements easier. Nonetheless, we still provide the necessary support for the physically challenged whiles we seek further support to achieve the above stated goals.
The Abused
We stand against all forms of abuse towards our beneficiaries. With advocacy, education and public lectures, we believe we can influence the society to become active advocates against all forms of abuse.
We work closely with community leaders, social workers, and law enforcement to ensure that cases of abuse are reported and addressed. Our advocacy campaigns aim to create a culture of zero tolerance for abuse in all the communities we serve.
